Andy White

Andy has harboured a passion for the sea from childhood and has pursued his love of open water sports ever since. He is a hugely experienced swim coach, qualified to coach both pool and open water skills, a qualified ISA surf coach, and a L3 Personal Trainer, with over 15 years of experience working with individuals of all levels from beginners to elite. 

With his wealth of experience, and infectious enthusiasm, Andy created Ocean Set with the overriding goal of giving others the confidence, the skills, and the fitness to develop their own love for the open water.

Marianne Clark

Open Water Coach / Triathlon Coach / Personal Trainer / Run Coach

Marianne is an avid open water swimmer and triathlete with over 20 years’ involvement in endurance sports, as a competitive triathlete and GB age group athlete, and latterly as a coach.

She has been a fixture on the Brighton outdoor/multi sport scene since moving down from London in 2010 and is a much in demand fitness trainer and coach. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and ability to motivate and inspire have helped hundreds of athletes of all levels to achieve their sporting potential and ambitions across a huge variety of swim and multi sport challenges.


Kath Lambert Ocean Set Swim Coach

Kath Lambert

Kath is a qualified pool and open water swim coach and has been teaching for over 20 years. An ex-competitive swimmer, Kath has a relaxed approach to the learning process and a real fascination for exploring how people move in the water and of the finer points of swim technique.

A passionate advocate for lifelong learning, Kath's past loves have included surfing, windsurfing, rowing, snowboarding, and climbing. She brings her experiences as an adult learner in multiple disciplines into her swim coaching. She is particularly good at building confidence and bringing a fun and creative approach into sessions.  


Andy Tester

Andy's belief is that no matter what your age or swim ability, the water is a great place to be for mind, body and soul. He is an experienced pool and open water level 2 coach and swim teacher.

Andy teaches and coaches all strokes to all levels of swimmers from beginners, masters through to Elite Triathletes. Andy has a huge love of open water swimming competing in Redbull Neptune steps, the only uphill swim race and in many long distance open water swims throughout the UK at a regional/national age group level with great success.

Kerry McGawley

Kerry works as a senior sports scientist and researcher at the Swedish Winter Sports Research Centre in Östersund, Sweden – albeit remotely. Her work involves helping to optimise the training and competition performances of elite endurance athletes.

Kerry is a competitive age-group triathlete and as well as winning a range of national age group championships in the UK and Sweden, she has also won multiple World and European winter triathlon championships (that’s running, mountain biking and cross-country skiing, all on snow!). She is a level 3 qualified coach and is passionate about helping others to perform to the best of their ability.
